Let say I am booking an air ticket to country A.
It stopovers at country B.
Singapore -> country B -> Country A.
Country A -> Country B -> Singapore.

How do I book the air tickets so that I can have a few days stayover in country B?
Like for a leisure trip because I dont want to "waste" the stay in country B?

In the SIA main website, there's a blue letters: Multi City / Stopover. Click on that.

Just click multi-stop instead of round/single.
Singapore---->Country B
Country B---->Country A
Country A---->Singapore

Stopover is more like short transit break usually between 2-6hrs

transit is less than 24 hours. stopover is more than 24hours.

airport charges for taxes (departure, handling fee, etc) when there is a 'stop' for more than 24 hours.

stopover can by 2 days or 3 days or 4 days

depending on where you want your country B to be, you select that country's national airline.

say you want country B to be Bangkok, you will take Thai Airways. Singapore - Bangkok - London - Bangkok - Singapore.

say you want country B to be Helsinki, you will take Finnair. Singapore - Helsinki - Paris - Helsinki - Singapore.

for partner airlines like KLM and AF, you can do Singapore - Amsterdam (KLM) - Copenhagen - Paris (AF) - Singapore.

if you want country B to be London, you will take BA. Singapore - London - New York - London - Singapore.

If you want country B to be Tokyo, you will take either JL or NH. Singapore - Tokyo - Vancouver - Tokyo - Singapore.

do you know which are the routes that SQ flies to that includes in transit/stop?

Singapore to Houston, with a transit/stop in Manchester.

Singapore to New York, with a transit/stop in Frankfurt.

What else?

I used to go to the airline's representative office to get this done over the counter.
