Install back the old RAM. Can it boot? Just to make sure.

Cos Unexpected I/O error 0xc00000e9

This usually points to your HDD, which is either infected by virus, corrupted files causing bugs, or dead HDD:

The error occurs when i use the old ram. Cant boot in safe mode either, pressing f8 and nothing happens. Don't think my hdd is broken as i just ran crystal disk on it last week, was fine. Should i just reinstall windows?

Hard disk can just die any time, see you suey enough or not :s13:

Why old RAM though, I tot you buy new RAM?

Anyways do you have another HDD with OS installed? If you have you can try plug it in to see if it can "boot" or not. Technically it won't fully boot but enter a boot loop because the HDD's OS belongs to another mobo. Just like how you can't boot into windows if you changed mobo without re-installing OS. But at least if you can boot past the bug check with another HDD with OS, it would most likely show that your own HDD up lorry.

Bought the new rams for a new rig, still in progress so decided to use it for this first. Doesn't seem to be compatible so took it out.

No i don't have another working hdd.. Have a faulty one which i plugged in and it says bad smart status so i'm guessing the sata controllers are fine as they still can read the hdd.

So most likely is hdd fail? I'll try to reinstall windows and see whether its a due to a bugged windows.

Most likely, if you haven't changed anything in BIOS.

Is that HDD detected in BIOS?
