Bootcamp can't detect usb dvd drive

Is this normal?
How to solve apart from making an ISO and using a USB stick.

managed to copy to ISO to an external usb thumb drive and installed bootcamp from there.
Working great now. :)

I have a retina iMac and tried to install windows 8.1 from a usb dvd drive but it said it did not detect it as well.. How do I do it ? I don't know how to make a bootable flash drive using the ISO file

First, you have to run "disk utility" and make an image from your Windows DVD.
Then insert a thumb drive and then burn the image on it also by using "disk utility".

After that just run Bootcamp with the thumb drive inserted.

Done!

Now, I have another issue.
I activated my Windows in Bootcamp, and needed to also activate it within Parallels.
Can't run 2 instances of Windows with one code.

If you have a Windows machine you can create a bootable USB stick via USB DVD download tool. Windows ISO files are easily available just make sure you have a valid license key.
