Bootcamp installation problem

I want to install Windows on my Mac Mini via Bootcamp. So I ran Bootcamp Assistant, made my thumbdrive to be the installation disk, then my mac mini restarted.

When it boots up, a message "No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key". The problem is, my wireless keyboard seems to be not detected so I can't press any key. Wanted to try the Alt option, but again, seems like my keyboard is not working. Tried with a cable keyboard - same thing.

Any help please?

I assume that you are trying to install windows 7 on your 2012 mac mini? Details like that really help people to give more accurate solutions.

1) 2012 Macmini - usb 3.0. Windows 7 - no USB 3.0 native support.
2) Bootcamp Assistant will ask you to download the windows support drivers into a separate thumbdrive
3) These drivers include USB 3.0
4) Copy the windows support file into the USB windows 7.0 installation stick
5) Run bootcamp assistant with that support cum installation USB drive.

I had the same problem with my iMac being unable to detect USB drive/Keyboard/Mouse connected via USB3.0

Since bootcamp is giving so many problems, why don't you try parallel instead?

I have some questions for you,

1. What version of Windows are you installing? Win 7/8 32/64bit?
2. Did you create the bootable install drive using Boot Camp Assistant and an ISO image of Windows?
3. Do you have any other USB devices plugged into your computer?
4. Mac OS version?

According to this article Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows operating systems, late 2012 Mac Mini only supports 64bit versions of Win 7/8.

Sorry if i missed a few details. Thanks for the response guys.

It's Windows 8 64bit.
Created the installation thumb drive from an ISO image.
Bootcamp assistant was indeed downloading some drivers.
No other USB devices, except my wireless keyboard receiver.
On latest Mac OSX version although I'm not sure if my Bootcamp was the latest.

Now I can't do anything since I can't even change the boot option to boot to Mac.
I guess I can take out the SSD and fix the GPT thingy to make it boot to Mac?

To the qn why not using parallel instead. No reason, just want to use bootcamp and not buy parallel license.

Boot Camp automatically updates itself when you update the OS to the latest version. Are you able to boot into recovery via Cmd-R? And the SSD you talk about, did you install it yourself or is your Mac Mini a CTO?
