Hi guys

I've no choice but to turn to this forum again. In my previous thread, i've talked about upgrading my PCI storage to which i realised it was not really possible (not impossible) thanks to some of you people. I've returned the mbp without any hassle, they even sent someone to pick it up from my doorstep. I've since placed another order which I'm using now.

in my previous post, i've stated that i've booted my mbp w windows 8.1 etcetccc.

right now, I'm having problems in installing windows i'm going bonkers. I'm doing whatever i did in the previous installation but its not going the way i wanted it to. I'm fine up until they are installing something then they told me some parts of windows is missing????

I format the boot camp partition (partition 4) then chose it, it installs, then a minute later a popup shows and tells me that it could not be completed because some parts is missing then give me a error code which i didn't bother to note it down.

I've been removing and installing windows via boot camp assistant so many times, re partitioning and remove partition so many times i thought my mbp might go bonkers as well. ):

p/s for my grammar mistakes and all. ):

we need more details on the error.

when you are installing windows, you should use the advance function to format the bootcamp partition.

Is your Windows 8.1 installer on a bootable USB that was created from an ISO or on a DVD. If on a DVD, make sure it is a retail copy of Win 8.1 and not an OEM install DVD.

Yes, please let us now the source of the installation as mentioned below:

USB or DVD?
Retail copy or OEM?
Did you do tick all the options at the bootcamp application? (Create USB installer via ISO + download driver + install windows)?

I had installed Windows 8.1 on my rMBP a couple of months back and some initial hiccups. But was able to install it easily after 3 tries and the answers to the question above, I wouls be able to give some assistance.

Hi.

USB
OEM
yup, i downloaded the stuff we're supposed (?) to download from the apple support. The bootcamp support software 5.1.5640 and also install windows. I'm up to the point where they ask for my product code, then i format the partition 4: bootcamp and chose partition 4 to install windows at.

Then during the windows setup, after a minute or so, a pop up appeared.

"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure that all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007025D"

):

in my previous mac, which i ended up returning, i installed windows 8.1 perfectly fine and now i'm having all sorts of trouble

"Windows cannot install required files. Make sure that all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007025D"

):
I've been formatting my USB so many times i'm scared that it'll go craycray along with me x(

Are you able to try by creating another bootable USB drive? Also, when installing, make sure no other USB devices are plugged into your computer.

creating another bootable drive?
yep, no other usb drive are plugged into my mbp ):

now another error pops up

"windows cannot open the required file D:\Sources\install.wim. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for the installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570" when the windows is preparing < not even pass the part where they ask me to enter my serial code.

before this, I actually reached the stage where i entered my serial keys and format and choose my partition. while installing the error " windows cannot install required files. Make sure that all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. error code: 0x8007025D" pops up.

Hi guys,

another error pops up

"windows cannot open the required file D:\Sources\install.wim. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for the installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570"

this is getting increasingly annoying. I just don't understand which part i did wrong. Previously with the macbook that i own for about a week before returning, i had 0 problems installing windows. Got it done in 1 try.

but now, i've been trying for days already. rebooting, deleting files, redownloading the iso over and over again, formatting my usb all over again but to no avail. Nothing is working for me.

My exams is on Monday and i need windows by then..... I need to install some vmware stuff on it and i can't proceed without windows ):

The same steps I used as the video where I tick all the check boxes. The first 2 tries failed and encountered the same initial error as you. I got purchased the key direct from Microsoft online store.

The first try - I used the ISO downloaded by the MS USB tool when I purchased the key online. What I read was the cause could be the language pack - the tool downloaded sort of a Singapore version of the ISO.

2nd try - I stumbled upon a forum which has the direct links to the ISOs on the Microsoft server. I downloaded the retail all language pack one. Failed.

3rd try - I connected via VPN to mask my location as US - the tool downloaded what looks like the US version. This was the successful one. So I concluded that it was the source ISO.

Edited: apologies, I swapped and 2nd and 3rd try sources after checking my ISO Back-up. The US version one was the one that worked.

Hi

there's yet another new error.

this time, right at the start.

It says

"Recovery

Your PC needs to be repaired

A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed

Error code: 0x000000d

You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.

Press Enter to try again
Press F8 for startup settings"

ugh, i'm so mad :s12::(

As PetPet have mentioned, could it be the USB media?
