Boots shine required?

Anyone been thru NS police in hta and reservist as procom. Boots shine is required or optional? Blackend will do?
Same goes for scdf and army?

Army - "clean"

Basically no mud stains and dried grass all over, and uniform layer of black will do.

Not sure about other branches.
