Do i need any special Blu-Ray playback software to play the video or any software will do.

You can playback, but you need a video software to watch it such as Kodi Player.

Also if you want DTS HD and Dolby True HD then you will need a special software to play the sound. Else it will be no sound or on stereo.

So if i buy any of those br OD, and i use Kodi player, confirm have visual and audio( no need surround sound )?

Yes. But i dont see why you need to do that though. Might wanna consider buying a normal blueray player? Considering that it is also cheaply available, and can connect via HDMI straight to monitor.

If u just want to playback, You need a software that can decrypt, such as anydvd.

Alternatively using slysoft https://www.redfox.bz/en/anydvdhd.html ignores any DRM the moment u insert Blu-ray. So u can playback with vlc!

For playback on kodi u need to rip encrypted Blu-ray into ISO using makemkv.

What bluray do u need to watch that's not available?

For me I bought Sony optiarc Blu-ray for laptop $56, then buy USB to mini sata adapter. If u have ps4 u can also watch straightaway
