My opinion, do not need to ask now or worse wait.

Quickly drive to workshop and have it check since you feel it is not functioning the way it should be.

Brake very inmportant, don't playplay.

brought to check and did flushing last week.. No leak detected and was working fine after tat.

was driving yday morning and was approaching a red light (downslope).. then as it was abt to stop. it suddenly lose power. have to release the brake and then press harder before it stopped. after tat the brake is very loose and braking point is super low...

gotta bring back to them to check the master cylinder. What is the cost to change it?

Is urs a Auto car ?
If it is, it is quite normal if u meant when u just step a bit, there is no "neutral" or clutch pedal, so the idle kicks in.

But if u meant when u depress hard or deep down, then the brakes engaged but then the car looses power and the brake dis-engages ?
- Brake fluid low
- Brake fluid pump/cylinder faulty
- Brake pedal controller faulty (there is a small rubber stopper at brake pedal for some jap cars that get worn out)
- Brake pads faulty or worn out

Nonetheless, you should really get it checked out....

Yups auto car. But not abt the idle part.

the brake effect aredy kick in (car slowing down and about to stop) when I depress it as I saw the lights turn orange from 50m away.. as it rolled down the slope to the stop line, the brake suddenly lose effect and the brake sink down..

Will bring to do a thorough check.. too dangerous..

Your brake hose is leaking.

Better get it fixed. It will become totally unstoppable once the leak gets too serious.

I nearly hit into the car infront, fortunately I pulled my handbraked, and it worked.

Ya.. gonna bring to check again.. mine is still can brake but the "biting" point is super far... my guess would be master cylinder.

I had a similar driving experience last week when I switched on the engine and the brake pedal became very loose and worse than spongy experience.

Then I switched to driving mode and yet to tap on my accelerator but slowly allowed my car to move.

However, it turned out that as I depressed the brake pedal, the brakes did not work at all. Good thing is that the car wasn't moving much. I switched back to reverse mode and parked back my car and called the tow truck to bring the car to the workshop.

Subsequently, it was diagnosed that there was a leakage in my brake booster and my master brake cylinder. This was the cause of it.

In case you are asking, I am driving a VW Golf and of course, this has nothing to do with DSG failure or clutch issue.
