no recommendation for breakfast but if you're in Hualien go try the 卤味 and 棺材板 at the night market. some pics here.

There's a lot of eat at TMS, but in terms of good eateries, not sure...

are you looking for traditional stuff or just any breakfast.

normally, u can just ask your hotel front staff for nearby recommendations. there should be plenty of shops around the hotel for breakfast. I normally ask them what they personally like to eat la, :D

in taipei, if u dun mind brunch, then you can go dong qu. many options there too

There is a famous Chinese local flavor in Taipei, it is a must-go place, but long queue...

Fuhang Soy Milk (阜杭豆漿)
2F, No.108, Section 1, Zhongxiao East Road

Any nice breakfast place at or near 忠孝復興(Zhong xiao fu xing)?

Will be there early around 8am, with luggage. Would like to travel to 阜杭豆漿 to queue but would have to contend with the working crowd on the train plus at the queue itself.

there is a 永和豆漿大王 on Ren Ai Road that people i know recommend (i've also eaten from it, pretty good). not much space to sit, but can squeeze in back. if you google 'yong he dou jiang ren ai road' you will get to hungryintaipei's blog, and there is a map there.

If you stay City Inn Plus XMD, I recommend Zhaoji wonton since they open quite early. Nice big wonton.

the one in Sg is not the same - the name is slightly different and they serve different things. i don't even think they are related. the original YongHe DouJiang is from 永和市 (now part of New Taipei City) and you can find many breakfast places with "永和" in it all over Taiwan, haha.
