他说，除了陈川仁近日在国会麦克风未关闭时使用了失礼用语事件，陈川仁和同为议员的钟丽慧也有不当关系，而后者更为严重，因为陈川仁是议长、钟丽慧是议员，两人不该有不当关系。

李总理说，他最近一次在2月和陈川仁谈过这件事。“他承认自己做错了，并提出辞职。我接受了他的辞呈，但我告诉他我需要确保景万岸—菜市分区和淡滨尼东区的居民继续获得照顾。”

陈川仁辞职前是马林百列集选区议员，负责景万岸—菜市分区事务。钟丽慧则负责淡滨尼东区事务。54岁的陈川仁已婚，育有两个孩子，47岁的钟丽慧则未婚。

李总理当时也告诉陈川仁，他必须结束和钟丽慧的关系。然而，总理最近得知一些信息，强烈显示这段关系仍在继续。

钟丽慧也曾被劝阻，包括李总理在今年2月也和她谈过，但她仍然继续与陈川仁保持关系。

针对陈川仁和钟丽慧的不当关系持续了多久，李总理说，他是在2020年大选后不久得知此事，但他不知两人关系何时开始。两人当时就被劝阻，但很不幸的，此事并未了结。

有媒体提问对比这次，总理当年更快速地处理前议长柏默同样因婚外情而退党和辞职的事件，李总理回应说，每件事的处理方式取决于具体情况。“正如我所说的，要看情况、涉事者的配偶和家庭条件，以及你能如何尽可能敏感地处理此事，同时履行你的职责。”
