china their firms have to cut costs, quality n prices further as they lost their most profitable market. we should be more afraid of them dumping lower quality products at already cheap price to us n squeeze out our smes instead.

As it is, there're already lots of cheaper lower quality stuffs from China or anyway else.
It's the consumer's choice and diligence. That's why shopee/taobao/etc have seller/shop ranking, sales numbers and consumer rating/comments. Your money your choice.
Our SMEs competitiveness cannot be help with China prowess, unless we tariff them.

How do you pass a US tariff on Singaproe customers? The tariff is only imposed on goods sold to US, not to goods from US.

In fact, TS's title is misleading. The firms are passing on the cost of tariffs to the US customers. That's not a problem for us here, except to the extent that demand from US will fall.
