Grand Palace, Wat Po, Wat Arun, Chao Phraya River. The usual touristic places.
Chinese? Yaowarad.

Does she mind walking? Book a local tour.

If the abovementioned places resonate, stay nearer to the Chao Phraya. My choice is Saphan Taksin.

i tink the last time went to BKK was like 20 yrs ago?
Not sure if temple interest her since is not her religion



Ya i shld be staying in Arnoma Grand, i check online there seems to be 2 arnoma grand side by side, is this correct?

The temples Wat Po and Wat Arun are touristic places of interest then. Don't know about other Arnomas. The usual one is opposite the Central and not far from the Erawan Shrine.

Try visit a night market.

Personally I like Liab Duan NM. But it's a bit far, so if you have 3-4 pax, you can grab or bolt to and fro, peak hour is about 200+ Baht per trip.
You can have your dinner there. If you like those salted grilled tilapia, it costs 250 Baht there for a whole fish. We ate it at a sit in non aircon restaurant (near the road with advert banner). Their Tom Yum Gong is good too.

normal for folks have no idea what to do especially for new location. so best just use guide, show them photos in guide & plan together

Good suggestion above actually. Better "sell" the destination to your MIL first and not go simply with your assumptions. Run through the list of attractions so she can make her own mental connections first before indicating her interest with the touristic places.
