It's that time again, where my mom will buy a color laser printer and print less than 1000 pages out of it.

Printer prices have gone up compared to the past... inflation? :(

So far only thing that looks okay for home use is DCP-L3551CDW at $450 with scanner and duplex

You can save $150 by going for non duplex & scanner color laser (e.g, HL-L3230CDN). If you need it, you need it cannot avoid....

Currently, using a $90 brother mono laser primary for printing exam questions for kid and WFH.
Verdict, good work horse...ink cheap, print head cheap... no bones to pick...

More of a price increase further if you need duplex printing. You can save up to $150 if you go non duplex. Even scan, if you have duplex scan, that will easily drive up the cost even higher.

Now printer manufacturers dont charge the machine cheap. They also wanna earn some from it. There are people whom keep buying colour printer rather than colour inks, cause it is still cheaper to do so than replace the colour inks. Despite that manufacturers also provide half tank inks, to the consumer is i get extra warranty. Lol
