keyword :idle. not sure why the z87 quite a few got this problem. close all the c3 c1e c6/7 monitoring. check again if the problem persist. i only know this works for many. the other method not so sure.

Thanks bro. Usually I test with game idling since I can't be deliberately sitting infront of PC to play games waiting for it to crash. I tried exiting monitoring apps like mobo/GPU/OC software,Fraps, screensaver, WinUpdate off and putting Windows power profile to Max Performance and Nvidia 3d settings to default but it still periodically occurs. Sometimes can play 2-3 hrs no issue but sometimes crash after 45 mins to 1 hour+ sighhh ...

some said is cause of nvidia experience problem. they uninstall it and it works. but mostly people turn off c1e c3 c6/7 state to maintain stability.

tell me if it works. haha!

Take out your Ram and graphic card. Use a eraser to clear to gold finger.

Thanks Bros! OK i just uninstalled Geforce Experience and disabled all those monitoring background progs from launching upon startup. Then will leave a game running for a few hours to test stability. If still same then will remove RAMs and GPUs to rub the gold finger contacts and see how. Damn chiaklat, i have to remove fans to access the GPUs and don't know whether can remove RAM sticks since they are partially being blocked by the twah-pui-sai Noctua CPU cooler sighh! Will also go into BIOS to disable all the C1e/C6 thingeys first.

can bro, now already got wireless charging technology, beverages will also be able to be despatched online soon :D Crysis 3 idling at 2 hrs 9 mins no crash :s12: but I don't know which was the factor (CPU C state disabled or Gefore Experience uninstalled or monitoring background progs removed from startup). The PC specs are the same as at right bro, the AMD HD4870X2 GPU I was referring to was previously used in my current case - it gave me a lot of heat problems (that's why so many fans in my case up till now). Thanks again bro!

previously it took how long to crash? haha should be c state and EIST. because you are overclocking. thats why all this throttle up and down from c state and eist cause ur pc to crash.

so the latte gonna fly into my house later? hahaha!!!

brilliant! never thought of that. it varies, sometimes 45 mins, sometimes 1 hour +. maybe I should let Crysis 3 run idly overnite :( Shucks forgot about the EIST setting...

let me take out my 3D printer and send you hardcopy of kopi instead ... i.e. tomorrow morning, fingers crossed lol!

k then forget about EIST then. no bro, i stress test the following:

CPU - Aida64 Extreme + Prime95
GPU - Unigine's Heaven & Valley (+ playing Crysis3 + running Metro benchmark).
RAM - Memtest 86+ & Windows Memory Diagnostics

I never had crashes or BSODs when running all the above benchmarks, only when im gaming (especially Crysis 3).

i think is cause prime95 will make the cpu run constant. while crysis will have lesser load sometime. hence the throttle up and down of speed from eist cause bsod. cheers! haha

still same :( except now it takes longer for it to crash i.e. more than 2-3 hours. went to BIOS to disable EIST. i remember have this problem even before my PC upgrade (changed mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU & graphics card - in Jan/Mar 2014) so now im suspecting its an OS fault since i did not format/reinstall OS when upgraded components. the sliver of hope now is that i just disabled EIST in the BIOS but i'm not holding my breath sighhhh.....
