BSOD while installing Windows 10 on new PC

Update 1 Sep 20:
-[SOLVED] BSOD issue -> RAM not inserted properly
-[ON-GOING] Case fan not working
-[ON-GOING] CPU temp idles at 45-55C with occasional spikes to 65C++


I'm not sure what's wrong with my PC. At first the PC was not able to boot up, turned out the RAM sticks were not inserted tightly (I had to manually close the clasps instead). When I tried to fix it, I foolishly inserted one of the RAM sticks where the notch didn't match with the DIMM slot and even pushed and applied some force until I realized it was in a wrong orientation so I quickly flipped the orientation again. Now the PC is able to bot up, and the BIOS can detect the RAM, the SSD as well as the USB flash drive. I then updated the BIOS and enabled the XMP profile.

But during Windows 10 installation from my flash drive, it showed BSOD once with error code Ntfs.sys. Then I tried reinstalling Windows 10 again but this time there's no BSOD and showed error message 0x8007025D instead. I read online and most say the files in the flash drive were probably corrupted. So I format the flash drive, and created the Windows 10 media tool into this formatted flash drive again. But again, the first time I tried installing Windows 10 it BSOD again with error code ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY. Then the second time I tried it showed error message 0x8007025D again..

Does anyone have any idea to what may be the cause of this problem? Your help is greatly appreciated.

-Ryzen 7 3700X
-ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming ITX (BIOS v1.20)
-Corsair LPX 3200MHz CL16 (2x8GB)
-WD Black SN750 1TB
-Nvidia 2070 Super Founders Edition
-Corsair SF600 Gold

To troubleshoot this further, I would reset the BIOS and try to reinstall. Leave XMP settings off for now until you can get Windows installed then if all works out re-enable and continue troubleshooting from there.

If the problem persists then it could be one of the RAM sticks so I would try one stick at a time to see if you can successfully get windows installed.

Thanks a lot Hafiz, I was finally able to install Windows 10 using one RAM stick. Then I switch the other RAM stick in the same DIMM slot and am also able to go into Windows. Maybe I didn't insert the two of them properly the first time.. How can I now check if both RAM sticks work as normal?

And also my two bottom Arctic P12 PWM fans don't seem to be spinning... they are connected with Noctua y-splitter and then I use an extension cable as well.. or will they only spin once the GPU temp hits certain degree?

your mobo 2 slots only. just plug it in. if it works, then good for you. if it doesnt, just swap them.

Do note that AMD is particular about the ram that are installed. Best to use only ram that are specifically for AMD, or those in your motherboard QVL.

Incompatible ram may cause many ransom issues.

Memtest86 is a useful program to test ram.

OK here is some info on plugging in RAM as I have had issues in the past since motherboards have now started to only have 1 catch on the right side of the board.

When inserting the ram align the RAM to the side that does not have the catch and then align the catch side and just ensure that the RAM is in the slot ensuring that the notch (cutout) is aligning. Once aligned,.. apply some force on the non-catch side first and then do the same on the side with the catch,.. by doing this the catch 99% of the time flip close itself.

I know this sounds basic but you would not believe the number of times I've had issues due to someone bringing me a PC which appears to have the RAM correctly inserted but me simply removing and re-inserting resolves the issues!

Yeah it was my RAM's problem. I thought my RAM were already correctly inserted cause they already clicked but turned out I could still push them in more when I applied some more pressure. Now the Windows has been successfully installed and I've updated the drivers etc.

But another problem arises.. my two bottoms fans are not spinning. And again it was my mistake as I plugged the 4-pin fan only to pin 2-4 on the header and the 4th pin on the fan was not connected.. but when I fixed this, I thought it would solve the problem but turns out my fans are still not working. They are also not detected in the HWiNFO..

My front audio panel is also not working despite having connected the cable properly to the HD_AUDIO1 header..

Does someone know what's the problem? Note that my fan and front panel audio cables were tightly pressed in between the headers and the GPU. These headers are located on the bottom left near the PCIe slot..

It's not even detected in the bios. But everytime when I boot or restart the system, only one of the two bottom fans will spin but then it will die down again..

I have already installed the audio driver from my motherboard manufacturer's website

Rear audio jacks working fine.

The splitter is NA-SYC1. I think one is 4-pin female and the other one is only 3-pin female. I connect two Arctic P12 PWM fans to the splitter. I will try again later to connect directly to the mobo or to the other fan header (water pump header). Disconnecting it is a pain though cause the cha_fan header is located at the bottom next to the PCIe slot, so I may have to disconnect the gpu too..

1) Hmm I've seen and heard people connecting multiple fans to a single fan header. Even Noctua says on its website that "The NA-YC1 Y-Cables make it possible to run two 4-pin PWM fans on a single fan header". But I'm not sure if the combined power drawn from the fans will exceed the motherboard's fan header support.

2) I don't have a spare motherboard as it's a brand new build

3) Does anyone have any recommendation for a shop that does this kind of fix or troubleshooting? I'm willing to go there as a last resource if all else fails..

err, but how u even did that - did u turn connector wrong way & forced in?
in left pic got a flap of plastic, that should fit into slot on right pic - can u check if its connected the right way now...?

You go those shops, they will tell you your Mobo spoil.
Back to square one and you need to pay service charge.
Reading thru, if your Mobo is new and under warranty, rma it .
Next time see properly before inserting lah....you must be a xdd ...lol.

TS can even slot the ram the wrong way....looks like he is pretty careless in some way.
Maybe he might have damage something on the Mobo along the way.
My best suggestion as mention by one Bro above , rma the Mobo.
