Budget 700-800 - Barebone System

Hello Pros,

It has been 5 years since i last used a PC.

I do not need OS, already have a 22 inch monitor, no need DVD Drive. I have 3 or 4 Laptop HDDs, can reuse lagi better.

I'm looking at the I5-3570 and Mobo combo + a Decent Gfx card and power supply. Will need ram also.


Any recommendations ?

Get haswell, the price is not that much difference. Also better IB already EOL and the motherboards cannot use newer CPUs.

Go for Asrock H81M-DGS + 4570 = $311
Gigabyte 270x $329
Superflower 500w 80+ gold $89
Ram 4gb 1600 x 2pcs = $90

Slightly above your budget but worth while.

Are those DVD drive and HDDs running off SATA or IDE interface as such?

Thanks for the news. I din know. I only read somewhere that 8 series mobo can support broadwell with bios flashed. Maybe is old news.

Wah lau even may need to change power supply for broadwell?
