Main use would be for listening to audio books, podcasts, taking phone calls.

Preferably water resistant as intend to use in the pantry/kitchen environment, where there is warm moist air from cooking.

Currently Xiaomi Speaker Box 2 seems to be a good candidate.

Is there any other model I can compare with? Seems like there are many different Chinese brands on Lazada etc., all unfamiliar with me.

Budget preferably less than 50 but willing to go over for nice crisp sound and all round performance.

Also don't mind non-battery/wall-powered speakers.

Appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Can consider JBL Go, one of the better small speaker that I have.

Or you can consider ultimate ears, the wonderboom?

I don't have it, but I do have the megaboom, UE sound quality is awesomeee

Mi Speaker 2 has a clear sound so is a good choice for audiobooks. For music, the original Mi speaker has more bass. I have both and these are among my better BT speakers.

Thanks for this suggestion. The Aukey looks interesting. Can you comment on microphone performance? Can the other side hear clearly?

Can take a look at Anker Soundcore Motion B. Pretty good for me so far, though I'm not a very fussy user when it comes to speakers so can't really give u an in-depth review

Sent from Xiaomi MI A1 using GAGT

Finally purchased MIFA A1 speaker for SGD$25.

Seems to have good reviews on Amazon.com.

Also 2 year warranty.

Tried out today and sound quality is quite nice, clear and loud.

No actually... but been looking for a white one... was about to hoot pebble... then i saw this... so i thought maybe when i switch to projector then can shift one speaker behind my sofa... my pc desk is on the right of my sofa

FYI. I think Logitech is having a promotion on the Z121 on Lazada. Not sure how good.

For a single speaker MIFA has the model A3 going for around $42 on Lazada - which is a 360 speaker. If don't like just return through return policy.

Before buying the A1 I found that this brand seems to make decent products, so I took the risk. I think good value.
