Budget build below $1000

Hi all, I wanted to get your thoughts on the following budget build that was proposed to me by a builder for $968. What do you think?

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 6 cores 12 threads (3yrs)
MB: ASRock A320M HDV R4.0 (3yrs)
RAM: 8GB Klevv Performance 2666MHz (Lifetime)
PSU: 600w FSP Hyper K 80+ (5yrs)
SPAC:E 256GB Lexar NS100 SSD (3yrs)
GPU: GALAX RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 (3yrs)
CASING: Tecware Nexus M (1yr) *Free 1x led fan

RAM: make sure you go for dual channel 2x8GB
Fans: You'll want better ventilation
CPU+MB are really only about 250 together. The A320 is super budget.
SSD: That's a crappy SSD. Might as well get ADATA NVMe instead.

Set seems a bit ex for such old and budget parts.

since he put in a gtx2060 i think u might be doing some gaming, why not up your budget by few hundred and upgrade/invest to ryzen 3600 + b450 mobo + 16GB ram 3200mhz + 500gb ssd.

256gb ssd isnt enough, cos once your windows keep updating it will take up alot space in future + etc files. now AAA games also take up around 30gb already.

very curious did u tell him your budget or he just recommend you this? 256gb ssd + 8gb ram is really no go.

Here's my small 2 cents advice.

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 6 cores 12 threads (3yrs) --- Go for ryzen 3600 at least. If budget not enough then 2600 is OK.

MB: ASRock A320M HDV R4.0 (3yrs) --- Go for at least a b450 mobo. Better features better mobo. At least go for gigabyte or MSI brand also.

RAM: 8GB Klevv Performance 2666MHz (Lifetime)--- Go for dual channel memory. Something like 2 x 4gb or 2 x 8gb stick for dual channel mode.

PSU: 600w FSP Hyper K 80+ (5yrs)--- Try and get at least seasonic psu or similar. Aim for gold rating. PSU is important cannot skimp too much.

SPAC:E 256GB Lexar NS100 SSD (3yrs) 256gb ssd is fine for Windows + 2 or 3 AAA games. If intend to store more games get 512 or 1 TB ssd. Also add another 1 TB HDD for storing data.

GPU: GALAX RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 (3yrs) --- Aim for 1660 super if game at 1080p. If 1440p gaming get the Radeon 5700 xt. Aim for zotac or palit card for 5 years warranty. If Radeon card power color or sapphire is good choice.

CASING: Tecware Nexus M (1yr) *Free 1x led fan --- Chassis seems fine. Other good chassis are fractal meshify c, nzxt h500 etc if got more budget.

Am using 250GB hdd. With win10 preview version+libreoffice+photo/video editing s/w+virtual disc+personal files, now left ~50GB. I'll advice a 500GB SSD min. for new builds.

I've taken note of some of the above recommendations. The purpose of the build is to play MMORPGs, which normally doesn't require the best GPU but perhaps the best CPU performance. If anyone can correct me on this assumption, that would be great.

Do you know how much the above recommendation may cost? To answer your question: I told him my budget, and he gave me this build/recommendation. So it seems like 1K SGD cannot get much?

I second this... Initially thought 256gb would be sufficient but I was so wrong even for light gaming purposes, some games are really consuming too much space

My laptop only one game(mobile game pc port) now already half full. Then again, I haven't really clear any junk files since I bought my laptop.

I can say his offer is really good. He try his best to give you the best GPU possible but in return, trash in almost everything else.

If you want your rig to last, I would suggest at least increase your budget by at least $300. Games need a lot of drive space, at least some games can use up to 200gb.

Ram: (Any brand) 2*8GB 3200Mhz CL16 @ TradePac / PcTheme / Dynacore - $130
PSU: EVGA G+ Gold 650w @ TradePac / PcTheme / Dynacore - $135
Nvme SSD: Sabrent Rocket 1TB @ Amazon - $160 or ADATA SX8200 Pro 512GB @ TradePac / PcTheme / Dynacore - $150 I think

These 4 items already around $765
Then add casing and cheapo heatsink also already almost $900.

Of course, you could drop to a not as good GPU but still gonna be at least $1200-$1300. Even if you go for 2nd hand 1070, still gonna be $1100-$1150.

I am selling used 1tb ssd....used for school project then not used....

Then why use HDD with SSD ? it is like a sprinter running while dragging a turtle ?

Msg me if you want 1TB seldom use Samsung SSD...going cheap...like $110....then put ur page file on SSDs instead of letting windows config it on both HDD & SSD.
