Budget build

Parents PC finally gave its last breath.

Looking to replace it, budget build. Under the $500 mark. Reusing the old hdd. Used mainly for surfing, emailing and maybe some videos. No gpu.
Hoping some of the bros here could help me out with what to aim for.

i think you should get a tablet instead , suit you need.

but if you really need a puc, get a zotac instead. small and cheap $200 to 300 only . spec wise depend on you . it a mini computer. size of a router

TS, you mentioned that you intend to reuse the HDD. Is the HDD IDE or SATA?

New motherboards sold today don't have IDE connectors, so you may need to buy a new HDD.

For the intended uses, can buy the following cheaper parts instead and won't notice any performance decrease..

• Asrock H71M DGS mobo + Intel Celeron G1610 processor
• 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM

PSU can get the FSP 300W (or 350W, can't remember the exact wattage).

Do you need USB 3.0 and HDMI? Or is USB 2.0 and DVI and VGA enough already?
