Hi all, I wish to build a budget PC for my boss's wife, and my boss will also use it occasionally. Main uses, microsoft office, adobe photoshop, illustrator and net surfing etc. Here's the part i chose, budget around 1.1 to 1.2k

No point getting a gpu. Get a 3400g and a a320 board for a little over 250. Saves you more than 400$

IMHO, you don't need a discrete GPU unless the person is playing 3D games. 3200/3400G will do fine. Even i3 with B460 board will work fine.

i3 10100 + Asus Prime B460i $339
Ryzen 3200G + MSI B450i $311

Btw, for PSU, I would recommend better brands like Seasonic.

i suggest u get the ram and ssd from amazon. u can get a top of the line samsung 970 evo for under $90 and a decent kit of 2x8gb 3200mhz ram (either crucial ballistix or teamgroup t-force dark z) for about $95, both with shipping included. u could probably also make do with a lower power psu, though it is quite difficult to find quality psus below 550w. since u are already getting 550w, u could spend the savings from getting the aforementioned amazon parts on getting a seasonic psu as the bro above mentioned, probably the core gm-550.

also not sure why ppl are suggesting u use low end parts for photoshop and premiere pro. the choice of 3600x is pretty good.

be careful bro, the asus prime b550m-a wifi does not actually support the 3400g. also i do not understand why u would really want to get the 3400g, it is really bad for photoshop and premiere pro since it is based on architecture that is over 2 years old.

i would suggest that u stick to ur original build, changing the cpu and mobo to the r5 3600 + asrock b450m pro4 - $410 from dynacore as well.

If running photoshop and illustrator with a good speed and future proofing is a criteria, I rescind back my suggestion. Get yourself a b450m board and 3600 minimum and get a real cheap gpu like 1650s.

You can save more money with 400-500w bronze psu. 3600 + b450m is a little over 400$. A 1650s is around 200$

My suggestion for 3400g was taking your budget as priority with sacrifice in performance

Yeah, my intention is to have some slight future proofing, like upgrading processor, or a better gpu in future in case he finds it insufficient for his use. also wifi build in. thats why i chose the b550m board. but for now is to keep cost within his budget. I believe its better not to skim too much on PSU? for that i'm willing to sacrifice a bit on other parts as a good psu will save the other components should it fails? Updated parts:

So if the case option is not very good, any recommended budget micro atx case? not too expensive
I know the GPU isn't very good but is one of the cheaper options to give it a dedicated graphics portion.

why not get MSI B450I GAMING PLUS WIFI + 3500 for S$360 from PC Themes instead? Maybe carousell got a GTX1080 too

aiya wifi card can get very cheap. also good use of pcie x1 slots which ur probably not going to use for anything else anyway. many b450 boards now support zen 3, which is likely the last gen of am4 cpus, so cpu upgrade path for b450 will likely be the same as b550.

for case i will suggest the silverstone ps15-rgb. compact, cheap, good airflow and comes with 3 case fans (2 of which are rgb). most places sell about $60-70, though i got one half a year ago for $59.

if ur getting 1650, i would still suggest u top up the $30 or so dollars to get the super variant, u will be getting a lot more performance for not a lot more money.
