Budget Gaming Rid

Hi all,

I am helping my bro to build his rid. Need some advice from expert on the rid that I am looking at. I take reference from Jian19 and Buyers Guide by adrianlee.

Budget around 800 - 1k.

i5-4440 + ASUS B85M-E ~ $342
Crucial 8gb ddr3 ~ $90
CRUCIAL 120GB M500 ~ $129
Zotac gtx750 ti ~ $205
Fsp aurum s 500w ~ $85
Corsair Carbide Spec-02 ~ $84

I don't need a monitor, mouse and keyboard as my bro is going to use his existing system items.

Also I been seeing people recommended ASRock. Is it worth to get? Wonder how is the warranty for this board?

If you are on tight budget better get an ivy board and get a better gpu.

Samsung ODD ~ $21 (optional)

Total ~ $929 buy at tradepac. diy

If you do not need the ODD and wanna maximise the budget of 1k, swap out for Palit GTX760 2gb jetstream ~ $346

Thanks Roy. I did a google search on i5-3350p vs i5-4440. Seems like i5-3350p have better power consumption compare with i5-4440 but in exchange get a poorer performance.

So gaming and daily usage, better gpu is more recommended than getting better cpu?

Both have very similar performance... Just that 3350p do not have igpu.

For gaming, concentrate more on gpu rather than cpu.

Not only that, look carefully at the design/layout of components. Much better than the DGS.

Note that for the sata ports, you would need to route them at the bottom. NOt much issue, but it will look better with right angled connectors instead of straight. USB3.0 header quite close to gpu. Only 3 fan headers at the top.

Of coz.... but self diy is much better... Free and more rewarding.

I nvr touch DIY before till after UNI and i managed to boot up my com in few hours. Is it that hard??? LOL... I saved on that $20-30 as well and dun give them the chance to kope my items.

True. Just those tiny things that I am lazy to bother with such as fan connector, USB connector etc. I will go down and see how it is. If they let me monitor them to fix my pc, maybe I will pay. haha

can get 4570 instead of 4440 3% more expensive but 9% faster, psu can get superflower instead of all the good reviews, gpu get amd instead
