Budget Hotel Chains in China

- Holiday Inn Express

- Ibis (can apply for membership to get members price)

- Crystal Orange

- FX Hotel

- Home Inn

I believe most of these chains, membership can be applied for. So far I only have Ibis membership.

I have stayed in a Crystal Orange Hotel (Jinsong) in Beijing before. Rooms are nice but wifi is weak, almost non-existent! Locations ain't too bad. Walking distance to the metro.

I am heading to Beijing again (for the 4th time)! Am thinking of trying other hotels.

I have not stayed in a Home Inn hotel before but have seen the rooms before. After seeing the rooms, I cancelled my reservation.

Has anyone stayed at a FX Hotel at any location before?

Any nice hotel (walking distance to metro) to recommend? Can stretch budget to S$100.

I'm going in winter again and it's a pain to walk too much from the hotel to the metro

There's also Hanting Inn, never stayed though.

You can try the 7 Days Inn too. It's a major chain I usually opt for.

If TS don't like Home Inn, then 7 days, Hanting and 168 will not be his cup of tea. Holiday Inn Express, Ibis and Crystal Orange are his level of budget.

With S$100 per night, try Ctrip.

True. Those local chains, especially 7 Days and HomeInns focus on providing consistency, right down to their interior decor and service level. At least Ibis does not have rooms that look similar all over China.

Jinjiang tries to be more like Ibis.

Ya, Home Inn, 7 Days, Hanting and 168, the rooms are pretty dirty (in my standard).

I though Ibis is pretty basic though. So far, I'm pretty impressed with Crystal Orange.

I have stayed in Xinhai Jinjiang in Beijing. Think it's different from the Jinjiang you have mentioned.

I quite like Xinhai Jinjiang but it's quite a walk to the metro. Would love to stay there again if not for the location. Kinda a pain to stay out too much in the cold

Go find out about Fairmont Peace Hotel. You will not look down on JinJiang.

7 days is always good
