Wonder you can intro a budget office phone for $200-300? Previously looking at Redmi 10C etc. those kind with screen > 6.5”.
Any other good recommendations?

If you're not in a rush to get, can wait for 9/9, see what Poco has to offer.

Poco X4 Pro is likely to promo at that price.
Poco M4 is likely to be cheaper and yet faster than your Redmi 10C too.

Though to be said, by the time it arrives Singapore, please expect it to be somewhere around 3rd week of September, barring any delays.


Poco was formally a sub-brand of Xiaomi, but even today, some models are just a rebadge of Redmi devices. So ya, same same but different.

Samsung A33? It's not 6.5" but has the longest software support (4+1y) in this price bracket. If your office is particular about security, this should fit requirements.

I've seen it going for $310 street pricing before.

cheapest during promo, currently is Poco C40, $149. But is really basic and quite slow, you can check reviews online

True for those below Snapdragon 732. I think 778G and 8-series are better. I won't consider 6 or worse 4 series SD processors cos they are not worth it imo - you can feel it's worse. Even Exynos objectively feels better.

You're right though - at that price point it's hard to get better SD processors, so Mediatek Dimensity.

Probably why the 778G A52s was so popular. I have 3 at home - 2 BNIB from retail ones were around $400ish, and my own set was $330, 9 days old on Carou. Some users got theirs (and the higher capacity 256GB models) on Lazada/Shopee for $3xx also.

not so simple, depends on specific cpu model, e.g. mtk has some dimensity models, e.g. dimensity 8100, which look good

similarly, snapdragon no longer automatically means good, a few recent snapdragon models seemed to overheat and throttle

reality is more nuanced, suggest not to be too overly focused just on brand, and look at specific model

p.s. xiaomi has too many models, very similar names, different specs, do be careful and research in detail

If you don't mind second hand and want an excellent performing phone as a second phone, consider the Poco F3. It can be had for low $300s if you camp on Carousell. Or the X3 can be had for $230ish.

Even if it's a work phone, I don't like mine being too laggy or slow.

The Poco X4/M4 may be a decent choice BNIB come 9.9, but note that the X4 comes with a SD695 series so it's a downgrade from the X3 with the 732G.

It's also funny how X4 Pro gets SD695, while X3 Pro was SD860.

hijack this thread abit, also looking for phone around same 200-300 price bracket. buying for mum to replace her mi a1, so prefer brand new with local warranty. also prefer to have decent camera with ultrawide, performance not v important. currently looking at samsung a32, but tempted by other phones that will exceed the budget though not by a lot. any guru recommendations other than the ones already mentioned?

Strange why poco x3 pro processor more powerful than x4 pro processor? Lol! Very strange line up because who will buy x4 pro unless you want amoled screen?

Unfortunately, brands do this all the time, and not just xiaomi.

Samsung a53 uses a exynos 1280, compared to sd778 used in a52s

When buying a product, cannot assume that newer model name equates to better/faster specs. Have to research properly
