Hi, I plan to build a PC with a Budget about 1.1k, can exceed a little. I just wanna ask if Aftershock is a good start for me to build since I’m not really proficient at building and I prefer all the parts to be new. I believe some carousell aren’t new and are there any suggestions other than aftershock?

My plan to use the PC for some games like league, pubg, r6, mhw, borderlands. Not much AAA games. Should I use ryzen or intel! And which gpu would be good?

if without, a budget from ryzen 3600 with b450 motherboard is good to go for budget build. I dont really prefer aftershock build as they dont offer much varieties for boards. u can get a much better build i u DIY.

yup can't go wrong with R5 3600 and a b450 board. Gpu wise can consider gtx 1650 super assuming you game at 60fps.

Recommended to try and build yourself. There's a lot of resources on youtube.

A simple guide.

Buy and build based on budget. Just replace Ryzen 5 1600AF with Ryzen 5 2600. As the different is only SGD40 on newegg.
Its ok to get used gtx1070 or RX580/RX570.

I have seen this same requirement being asked for so many times in the past few weeks that I compiled a list of parts.

Here is my recommendation based on Bizgram pricing: -

Casing is a bit on the expensive side but if u ask me this is what you greet daily so should not shortcut this too much. The rest is pretty much where I would start off from.

IF you really want to cut the pricing down a bit more then you can do what others say by going the Ryzen 5 2600 but remember that that is running Zen+ not Zen 2.

And to answer your final question on the GPU, the RTX 2060 (NOT GTX 2060) will up your cost to $450-$500 from the $388 I listed above.

I did a comparison on the pricing these companies do and the saving is only about $100-$120. IF they are providing you a one stop for RMA etc then it’s worth paying this - just my 2 cents worth.

you're paying them extra more for support. if you know how to troubleshoot, DIY would be a better deal.

This saving is basically you paying the shops to build and handle the RMA process (this needs to be verified as I cant believe they will honor that as there is a fair bit of legwork involved). So if u take it as worst case scenario your actually paying the shop about $100 to help assemble for you.

Which parts recommendation are you referring to? The one I provided does not include a cooler so it will use the default cooler.

The list I provided is just a guide so its up to you if to take that advise or to switch things out. This will mean that you are going to DIY it!

If we were not in this COVID environment, I don't mind helping out building as I'm looking to get a YouTube channel up and running.

Have to wait till special lazada 9/9 11/11 or similar special day sales with lazada coupon + bank coupon + shop coupon. Buy part by part online from lazada/shopee/amazon/newegg. Slowly collect coupon and spend abit effort wait for sale. Can easily save $200-$300-$350 over buying from aftershock or SLS if you have the patient.

Even if during non sales period on normal days with lousier coupon still can roughly save $100-$120 depends on how you play with the coupon and your online shopping skills.

Ok will vary depending on build I suppose. Also try to match the parts exactly as the slightest change of config will affect pricing. Most likely the higher price systems will have a bigger difference.

But you also have to consider that there should be some small savings when you negotiate based on a complete build (don’t expect much tho as all I keep hearing it’s already close to cost!).

People that want to do relatively entry level builds are wanting their systems up and running ASAP as they tend to not have any other option available. For those mid to higher builds I think this makes more sense!

Agree 100% - don’t go cheap on casing because it’s something you will regret very quickly. I would always spend more on casing to get the best possible airflow possible and a welcoming appearance (clean cut!)
