Reason for a higher speed ram is to boost the integrated gfx card performance.

I'm lazy, but if you were to go AMD way, don't go for the APUs, go for the discrete CPU instead, save up abit money and splurge on the GFX card, no use using the APU and crossfiring.

Agreed. As of right now APUs are not worth getting for gaming atleast.

Thus, the APUs are more of a HTPC solution, or low cost budget office usage computing solutions.

Discrete CPUs together with discrete GPUs are the way to go for Gaming, now.

Like you have mentiond. As long you add an ssd you will definitely burst your budget.

Throw the SSD, get HDD.
You can't get the best of both worlds, cheap and best performing.
