Quite sad that my rig didn't last till Intel's 10nm but it's likely dead and I'm keen to get a new rig.

Mostly going to use the computer for 1440p gaming. My previous rig ran really well for 6+ years so I'm hoping to achieve the same for this one.

Processor: Intel i5-9600K
Mobo: Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero (Any other good alternatives? This is quite ex)
PSU: Seasonic Prime Titanium 750W (For FDB Fan, low noise, high efficiency)
RAM: Unsure. 2x 16GB of something (Does the DDR4 speed matter? Getting conflicting results)
Graphics: MSI GTX 1080Ti (Chose this over the new RTX due to better efficiency and lack of evidence that RTX can handle raytracing well at >60 FPS anyway)
Case: Be Quiet! Dark Base 700
Storage: 1TB NVME SSD (Is WD Black or 970 Evo better?)
Monitor: Asus PG279Q (Chose this over the Acer XB271HU due to superior input lag per RTings review)

Any comments?

The cost savings by getting the items via NewEgg SG are really significant so that's probably how I will obtain my components. Local prices seem to be most competitive at Bizgram but I have no experience with them - any comments?

Don’t forget to factor in GST and shipping cost when buying from Newegg SG.

For bigger ticket item like monitors and GPU, I’d prefer to buy locally for peace of mind. It’s 3 years of warranty after all.

Motherboard to buy locally as well, unless the price difference is significance.

NewEgg SG lists a price before and after tax. I assume that's all the GST I need to pay?

So I'm actually curious, NewEgg stocks only have a 15 day warranty with NewEgg right? Non international warranty products have no support thereafter correct?

Bought EVGA 1080ti from newegg global as they accept direct RMA to Taiwan. Pricing does not factor in duty/tax till you sign in with an account and proceed further down the checkout process, that value there is final.

Depending on the games you play AMD for CPU might or might not be a better value to you. In my case a 2700X 8c/16t is a better value than anything intel has right now as frostbite games utilise >10 threads and the amount of frames I lose compared to a overclocked intel equivalent is not worth the insanely higher cost. Helps that current gen games are already making use of more threads with the trend set to continue with DX12 adoption.

Whatever you save on overseas RAM you will lose in resale value. Our local RAM all lifetime warranty IIRC so resale value is high.

I compared prices and my cheapest local build cost is around $4500.

Ordering from Amazon/NewEgg brings it down to under $4000.

Can't decide how to go about doing this now.

Anyone has any comments? $500 is a lot. And warranties are usually honoured, just that I have to send them back to the US right?

Say DDR3 EOL... Replace with DDR4.

Yup, as with all warranty there has to be a limit to their liability. So far convergent has been very good about their lifetime warranty, only one time they say my 7 yr old ram EOL, they offered to pay me back half what I paid, which is pretty fair for a product I used for so long.

You really get your money's worth when you buy local Kingston ram.

Based on your luck. Some people have very bad luck with Seasonic, despite buying high end ones like the Prime. Like 3 times rma in first year kind lol

Some, use 10 years also never rma once.
