Hi guys!! What do you think of this setup? Its a system meant to play BF4 @ 1920 x 1080 4X FSAA as well as World of Tanks. Then also Elder Scrolls online when its out.

MSI Z87 G65 Gaming board
i5 4650K CPU
2 x 8GB GSKill DDR32400
2 x 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD RAID 0 (for programs and games)
1 x 1TB HDD for data storage
2 x MSI 290 TF 4GB
1000W Seasonic Platinum PSU

Things I am undecided:

1. AIO watercooler so I could oc the CPU to 4.5GHz
2. What casing to house the parts. I don't need a big and expensive casing. Just want something that is just nice that could house the parts. I like Coolermaster Centurion and Elite but not sure if the graphics card could fit.

Lastly, do you think I should upgrade to 290x or just stick with 290 with do? Cause looking at the price difference, its not really worth getting 290x for that little bit more performance. I am also not running very high resolution and have no intention to go 4K monitors at all.

Also got CPU. Worth upgrading to i7 instead of i5? Cause I read that i7 is just slightly faster than i5 in gaming.

i7 not faster than i5 in gaming. At most, 1-10 fps.. Not worth.

Can consider Seidon 240m, seidon 120m, h100i, h80i, thermaltake 3.0 extreme

Can consider define r4, arc midi r2, 750d, air 540.

Stick to r9 290 bah. And i think 1 is enough to play BF4 at ultra. 2x or 4x MSAA dun make much diff. Tried le.

If wanna xfire, 850w will do. 1000w too high and over the efficiency rate.

16gb rams 2400mhz is overkill and useless. 8gb 1600mhz will do.

You want GD65 or G45 mobo? Although G45 will do liao.

Dun need to RAID 2x 256gb. Just get samsung evo 500gb, cheaper than 2x samsung pro 256gb.

TBH manshen,

To get 2 r9 290s for 1080p is too overkill already. Not unless you are getting a 1440p monitor.

An MSI Z87 GD65 offers an OC genie button on the mobo itself. It has slightly more power phases to offer over the G45 Gaming board. Else there is no difference in the 2 boards. To OC to 4.5Ghz is also just average. Any board can do so also. Not unless you wanna go above 4.6Ghz to 4.7Ghz.

Raid 0 on SSD is such a waste. Take that money and spend on a 1440p monitor instead. It is so much more worth it.

A 1600mhz to 2400mhz offers you no value added performance in FPS.

If i were you i will take all that and go for the list below.

MSI Z87 G45 Gaming + i5-4670k
Gskills Ripjaws 1600mhz 2x4gb kit
WD Blue 1tb
Samsung Evo 250gb SSD
2x MSI r9 290 4gb Twin Frozr
Corsair RM850 850W 80+ Gold PSU
Corsair Obsidian 750D
Samsung ODD
Windows 8.1
Qnix QX2710 27inch 1440p PLS Panel
Corsair H100i AIO Cooler

I recommend the Corsair Obsidian 750D. CM chassis is just too much plastic over metal build.

This build will be a better build for you. Game in a better experience.

OK, thanks for the info!! I didn't want a monitor because I just bought a 24" LCD 1080 monitor last year. Hence it didn't make sense to upgrade again.

Just use that as a spare monitor.
