Ask yourself, what is there to upgrade when you yourself only forsee yourself using it for only web surfing and movies?

Sorry if im being harsh on you. But many people do not know what to buy and ended up spending more than what they actually need. What you need is a low powered CPU + SSD. This SSD will be a much responsive than back in those days an i7 with a traditional HDD.

We here in a community is trying to educate people whom do not know about PC well and giving them some recommendations. Whether people buy the idea or not thats another.

The reason why we recommend i5-4460 is for people whom are gaming. Even light gaming dont even need the i5-4460.

ASk yourself, what and why do you need an i5?

Add a 256GB SSD in your current rig. As for your gf, i share the same sentiment as roy. She does not need an i5 for her usage, a Pentium processor is good enough. Save the money and perhaps buy a pandora charm for her. :s13:

Your i5 is still relavant till date. It hasnt been any much improvement since the day you bought your pc till now.

The only sensible upgrade is to have an SSD. And also move your OS installation to your SSD instead. And its good as new.

The next upgrade is the Hard disk space. Is 200gb enough for you?
