If that is the case then both the mobo we recommend does not have HDMI output. Only DVI with HDCP support.

If you want HDMI must get a Asrock B75 Pro3-M with the G1610 ~ $137

If you strictly just surf net and watch videos, the best you can go is for an Android-based media box such as MINIX Neo X7 costing just south of $200...

OR if possible just get m1 mibox.

If im not wrong it has free subcriptions for a certain months.

And yes it is a android tv based.

And it is cheap even if you have to pay.

Read that they are using customised version of Android without access to your usual Google Apps and Play Store and content variety also pretty limited and it doesn't read as many media file types as regular android boxes do..

well if ts just watch movies and internet it is more than enough. There's a way to install the play stores by all means one has to go for root.

I would agree mibox can be considerable only if TS is already a M1 Fibre customer, paying $4.28/mth over 2 years, equating to $102.72 over 2 years. Non-M1 customers turn out needing to pay $9.56/mth (after taking into account of the 6 months subscription waiver), $230 over 2 years, which already far exceeds the cost to own a no-frill, clean interface Android with Play Store access out of the box (no fuss for root to gain access to Google apps) that comes with wireless keyboard/airmouse, until the box dies, unlike the need to return mibox after 2 years contract ends. And limitation of media files compatibility as well as hardware video acceleration will more likely happen to mibox with customised firmware rather than on those China Android boxes, which can be pretty troubling and defeats the purpose of renting mibox if TS can't watch the videos from his HDD. In whole, TS can do far more with other regular Android boxes, yet at lower cost commitment. So i don't see how mibox should be considered.
