Building a new gaming rig, advice needed!

Yo, HWC.

I'm intending to build a new gaming rig for myself near this coming December. I have never ever built one by myself. So all these computer components are new to me and I always have to do some research myself. So I hope you guys can help me a little!

These are what I'm planning (roughly what I think I'm getting) :

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus Z87-PLUS ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card
Case: Corsair 650D ATX Mid Tower Case
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224BB DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 - OEM (64-bit)
Monitor: Asus VX238H 23.0" Monitor

Excluded but buying: Mouse, keyboard, power supply.

What is the budget am I looking at with this build? Personally I am getting a budget between 2k to 2.5k and no more than that. As for the mouse, keyboard, powersupply, I have no idea what to get for them especially power supply.
What I am doing with this build? Mainly gaming (AAA, indie, etc) and your average functions. I'm wondering if this will run BF4 on high settings with average 60fps.
Can somebody enlighten me? I'm not sure whether this build is balanced and my graphics can support AAA games.

Drop the ASUS mobo and go for Asrock or MSI, it is cheaper.... If not overclocking, get the MSI B85M-G43 and i5-4570.

That graphics card wun be able to play bf4, at least on high settings. Get at least r9 280x. There is a bundle for r9 280x and superflower golden green hx600w for $529 at mynextcom.

650D case is quite big and mainly targetted for ppl who want to watercool. If not, you are gonna waste the estate space.

With that budget, can throw in at least a 126gb SSD.

Would the manufacturers make a big difference apart from the price value?

if you're looking to overclock i believe your budget would have to increase if im not wrong and for graphics card from nividia i will ask you to get msi gtx760 / palit gtx760 if you're on budget and looking to play games like bf4 on high settings . but if you have more money to spare do consider msi r9 280x / msi r9 290

But your GPU seriously need to be better with that given generous budget.

Never heard of Superflower, do they have quality power supplies? I heard power supplies is important.

i am using my gf's gtx660 alienware to try bf4, it was horrible in high and there is still a lot of stuttering issue unresolved. Get something higher or live to regret it

I'm very newb with all these PC components although I like to play games so much. But thanks for sharing. They need to change their name..

Also, I realised there are so many different models for the same thing. Like the G.Skill Ripjaws. Same thing 8GB, 1600MHz but different model numbers. Should I be concerned on which I buy?

350D cannot fit ATX board.
not sure if the mobo you choose is matx or atx.
if atx, go for carbide series or the corsair 750D.

SSD can get samsung or plextor.

The concept of 540 air is slightly different from 750D.

540 is for people whom lazy wire manage cables. It is a dual chamber design. Components that do not need much of a cooling option is stored at the secondary chamber. Things like psu, ssd and dvd drive. Only important stuffs like mobo cpu hdd gpu are stored in the primary chamber. Its front are slightly closser to the gpu. Giving you good airflow. It is design ultimately for air to pass thru freely. Even my 140mm exhaust fan is running just at 800rpm. 2 140mm front intake at 800rpm. Heatsink push pull config at 1200rpm. The static pressure of air is just very strong at low rpm. Giving you a silent chassis.

Aesthetic wise is also very bueatiful. Showing just the important component on chassis. No fugly dangling wires.

Thats the beauty of this chassis. I have no regrets on this good and premium build chassis!
