Building a new rig

Hi all,

I'm building a new rig for gaming (Dota2, BF4, diablo etc) and hope it can last 4-5 years like my current PC has endured. Appreciate if you have any comments/suggestions on it.

Based on PCThemes:
MoBo+processor: i5-4570 + Msi b85m g43
Memory: Kingston HyperX Genesis 2x4gb 1600mhz
Graphics: PALIT GTX760 2GB DDR5 (I don't plan to OC, so I assume I don't need to buy the jetstream?)
SSD: Plextor M5S 128GB
HDD: WD 500GB
DVD: Samsung SATA 24X DVD Rewriter
Case: Fractal design 3000
PSU:Thermaltake SE 630W

Alternative on

PCThemes with bundle comes up to around $1330, while MyNextCom comes up to $1400, so this is my budget.

I will definitely need someone to do the assembly for me and I will most likely head down to PCThemes to build it at a cheaper price (unless MyNextCom can offer cash discount to pad the difference).

For the OS, do you recommend 7 or 8? I'm still on XP by the way haha.

Jetstream version had better cooler to keep the card cool..gtx760 ref is actually quite a hot card..

Hdd 1tb is about $15 more..quite worth to get

Power supply u might wan to consider Seasonic m12ii 520

MyNextcom do offer fix up the rig and delivery, if you want go with them and save yourself some time.

windows 7 is the way to go. windows 8 is still kinda new. windows 7 is more stable as of right now for games

Just saying only... if you nt gonna use all the pci slots, getting the matx ver is cheaper....

Hi guys, sorry for the late response, been out for work.

Jian19: I have an external 1 TB storage and planning to use my old HDD to store files, so I wanna save abit of money on the internal HD. I'll consider the Seasonic PSU! Seems like a reputable brand.

theuser: I'll go with win7 then, thanks! I whatsapp MyNextCom and no cash discount (and I dunno how to bargain over whatsapp haha). Prob will head to SLS to see if can bargain.

royfrosty: I'm concern about getting chopped at Tradepac cuz I tend to get blur and I'm not super well-acquainted with all the parts. If anything, I would prefer PCThemes of MyNextCom for their (reputed) good customer svc. Thanks for the quotes!
