Building a new rig!

Hi everyone. First post on this forum.

Anyway, I'm looking to build a new rig and was looking for thoughts/comments. Gonna build a little more for longevity this time...

Asrock Z87 Extreme4 with i7 4770K (not entirely convinced about the mobo though... Any thoughts??)
Seagate 7200rpm 2TB HDD
Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600Mhz 16GB (any benefits of going 4x4 instead of 8x2???)
Corsair TX750M
Corsair H90
Corsair Obsidian 550D casing (really like the clean look and quiet here. ^^)

As for GPU, I'm really torn between the msi gtx770 lightning and the R9 290... I', really into the whole ATI card but with the unavailability of any aftermarket coolers I'm a little put off by the chances of getting a noisy and hot card that may not perform up to the touted "mark."

I know my PSU is a little overboard, but I wanted to leave the option open to put in more stuff (SLI or crossfire. )

As you can probably see, this is going to be a general-purpose gaming rig and also light video/picture editing and rendering... Thanks for reading!

When are you gonna SLI/Xfire?

What is your budget?

You dun need 16gb for gaming/light video editing. 8gb will do.

If gonna SLI/xfire and OC, get 850w. Can try corsair RM850w, seasonic X850w, superflower golden green 850w. All better than TX750w

Do consider a 128gb ssd at least. If budget permits, get the 250/256gb ssd.

Can consider seidon 120m instead of H90. static pressure fans have more variety in 120mm than 140mm.

770 lightning nt much price reduction. Can consider 770 TF or other 770. If not, wait for 290 non ref.

Oh! I totally forgot to add that in - I was looking at the OCZ Vector, but I know next to nothing about SSDs... :/

I really had no idea about that 120mm vs 140mm thing... Will look into it!

Between the Gigabyte 770 and 770TF which would you recommend?

If u dun mind, amazon selling the crucial m500 240gb at US$143.98 = S$186. Quite a good deal i would say.

770TF is a good choice.

Im using the extreme4 board. quite happy with it. But the 1st usb3.0 port gt short or something due to my usb cable. Heng i gt 2nd port. not gonna RMA though.

Crucial no international warranty. Need send back to USA. Cost around $6-10.

DO you need 2tb hdd? If not 1tb shld be enough.

I heard that SSDs are quite reliable, would I be wrong?

Yepp for that I kinda do need it cos I filled up my current 1TB within two months and I'm using an external drive for storage now. Quite inelegant imho...

I am not sure hw reliable is seagate... need ask the rest.

Ok thanks so far anyway! Made a few changes that would probably come out overall cheaper!
