Building a PC for Photoshop

Hi pc gurus!

Using photoshop but not so intensive.

Budget about 1000. No need keyboard,mouse,monitor,os,photoshop software.
just need the pc parts. any recommendations?

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I also am looking at a configuration for Photoshop and Infinity Photo editing. However, I like to be able to drive a 4K HDR monitor that is probably coming to be more affordable soon. Would appreciate feedback, otherwise, I apologize and start another thread. Thanks.

Budget below $3000, without monitor. Have a P5LD2 Core2Duo running since building it many years ago. Have a 4T Toshiba 7200rpm storing all my photos. Have been advised not to RAID, but just do normal backup configuration. Would NAS be a better configuration? On-baord WIFI like ASUS Strix Z270E or add WIFI card is fine. Form factor is flexible as long as not too hot, having closed loop CPU cooler to keep system temp down is preferred. Quietness is extremely appreciated.

Buy lots of ssd and atleast 16gb ram, maybe 32GB if you spare cash to spend. For gpu gtx1050 or 1050ti. And a good monitor that displays color accurately. This is the priority.
Cpu - depends on workload. I would say ryzen 5 1600x for budget or 7700k for blowout. If you render then ryzen 7.

However, I think the cost is just the additional fan unit, which you are recommending to replace with quieter ones. I am thinking of upgrading to ASUS Strix 270E because of the On-board WIFI, do I still need the two fan controllers? Thanks.

The Gentle Typhoon fans are 120mm only. H110i is 280mm radiator. I suggest you take the H100i as it's the same cooler with 240mm radiator instead so you can swap out the stock fan with the typhoon fans for better airflow and quiet operation.

Asus TUF series have 5 years warranty. Throw in a wireless PCIE card coz I forgot to add that in, you will still be well within your budget. Something like TP Link Archer T6E for $55. Better worth than the Z270E as the casing I suggest you take the non-window version for maximum sound dampening.

I'd prefer running 2 fan controller as I don't like the cables to fly everywhere in the chassis. Just OCD about it. You can choose to opt it out. It's up to you whether or not to get fan controller. Plus it's easier to control a few fans as once too.

Thanks for suggesting H100iV2 instead, and subtle differences that could be overlook without experiences like yours. There are two reasons why I did not prefer the TUF MOBO; other than the WIFI, is the sound system which is very rudimentary. Understand the warranty portion and will keep that in mind. Will consider ASUS PCE instead of TP Link, as I have an ASUS router now. I had used many other brands of router before and only ASUS doesn't need a booster or repeater in my setup. Is there any other MOBO to recommend that have better on-board sound system, other than TUF Mark2? I don't play games, but I do listen to You-Tube songs and messages with closed earphone set. Okay for having a separate wireless adapter card.

To be honest, unless you're into hi-res audio, those better sound card sound the same. If you're an audiophile, you would rather have an external DAC or dedicated sound card.

I would fit in the Z270E nonetheless as it is both what you favour and able to fulfill your needs.

I'm using the TP Link Archer T6E recommended by another bro here, for being value for money for the performance it have. From my personal experience, the wifi is strong and stable. So I don't see any issue recommending it. But of coz, we have our brand preferences. So I would follow suit with yours as your budget can fit.

Thanks for sharing your insights. Appreciate your remarks. I do have an external DAC to stream digital music input. I also used a lot of TP Link routers and Powerline adapters before, and I agree with you they are just as good.

You don't really need dedicated graphics for photoshop....

i7 16gb ram 256gb ssd 1tb hhd should be enough.... U can push for a bigger hdd, or even consider getting an i5 to save $$$$
