he's much more concern about his gfx card. i told him 1060 would an overkill card for him cause he doesn't game much. he's considering 950 but i dont think that's a gaming card, wanna get 900 series also go for 980 ya?

950 is a no. Unless u are really pressed for budget. Tbh, 1060 is not a overkill. It's in fact a bang for buck card (3gb) one imo. Don't go for 900 series. Not worth the money. The 1060 can fight with 980 liao.

yes i reckon so... read the reviews of e 1060,70,80 card, i personally wanna get a 1080 so badly lol. i playing with 7850 now, overwatch settings all very low. HAHA i dont give no shits

this is the original design. but after discount codes and stuff, it got abit cheaper to 1k.

the mobo i simply got the cheapest becuz i dun need anything extra. besides i use homeplugs so my internet is solved.
the i5 was becuz i dun intend to OC and 6500 @ that time had a good price/performance ratio. i3 was considered but becuz some games are cpu hogs, i go for i5 instead.
gpu was simply the cheapest for 1060 @ that time for a 6gb one.

i admit i made some flaws in my original design and could have done it cheaper with much comfort but oh well. what's done is done.

depends on what are u usage, if not into gaming or light gaming can reach 1k. if into gaming like what type of games and required any high quality visual, might into improvise some parts to squeeze into it. (but will be over some how.) oh and lastly the monitor resolutions u gonna get like 1080p, 1440p or 4k. will impact on the gpu to get.

cost wise he's ok.. can up a bit down a bit.. hmm maybe put it this way he's willing to spend a good 1.7-1.8 for everything.
