i think the only problem now is u are afraid that i cant do any patches if i am using win xp right, well if its that case, i directly hoot win 7 :)
Still can get patches until April 8 later this year, but problem comes when the OS vulnerability increase without further new patches after the date. It will be better to increase budget to get faster and higher quality parts.

i mean the LED light, be it blue red or green. my father requested me not to have . haha

Do you mean the HDD/Power On indicator? Or those bling bling type?

If it is those bling bling type, 99% are self DIY de. Only a handful of cases comes with it pre-built.

  • Casing: Cooler Master Elite 341 or 342 or 343 or 344
  • Mobo: Asrock H71M DGS (more basic and cheaper than Asrock B75M DGS)
  • PSU: FSP 300W PSU (may still be on sale at Tradepac)

building a rig for my father

uses- youtube, facebook games, surfing net.
dont need kb,mouse, monitor,speaker.
casing preferences, not too big. smaller then 18cm(height)
hdd- 500gb, how is seagate hdd?
psu- maybe fsp or cheaper and better brand
ram - 4gb
gpu- on board graphic

anw i have a new window xp professional, stated for distribution with a new Acer pc only, not sure if i can use it for the rig.
feel free for your input, and thanks in advance .:):)

If your father is OK with non-Windows OS, and he's only using it purely for web surfing, can give Joli OS a try. It's free, lightweight, beautiful and easy to use. The interface looks a bit like Android imo.

Getting a Chromebook may be the best option. $250 can buy one already.
