hi guys, I'm looking to build a Rig and already know the parts i need. Have been looking through forum threads on SLS and it seems like some techniques of bargaining is necessary to get good or discounted prices. It will be my first time assembling my rig.

I also read that funan may offer prices that are lower than sls. Is that true?

In that case, should i go sls or funan?

With regards to individual pc components, I still think that SLS is still the way to go. u can go to PC Themes and pay a slightly higher premium to have a good night's sleep.

Let me help u clarify things:

Do note that Funan is not an equivalent of SLS. Both sell electronics, but specialise in different areas of electronics. Based on my experience and feedback off local forums:

1) Funan is better when buying laptops, camera/video equipment, phone accessories, audio equipment. Especially laptops and camera shops. Funan retail shops generally have cleaner reputation than their SLS (lvls 1-3) counterparts.

2) SLS is better in all PC components, PC accessories, monitors. Both SLS and Funan shops (except the parallel import shops in SLS) get their stocks from local distributors, but because of fiercer competition in SLS, SLS pricings tend to be lower than Funan's. Even if Funan shops can match SLS pricings, they are for PC accessories like keyboards and mice, since not many people change their keyboard and mice frequently.

yes they are not compatible with each other. But why do you need DDR4 rams? Yes, price of DDR4 are dropping, but they are still consider quite high as compared to DDR3, unless you buy from amazon.

Funan very limited choice. I remember it has probably about 3 to 4 shops at most that deals with DIY PCs, plus the item variety they carry is very limited. The rest all sell notebooks or pre-built PCs.

Go SLS Level 4 and 5; Funan is really no fight.

Tradepac and never look elsewhere! Unless you're looking for specific hardware that are not offered by Tradepac, do some homework tho, some items Tradepac will be slightly higher, but after dealing with them for years, I'm very satisfied, and friendly peeps.
