You can always use aftershocks build and then use pricelist of different shops to compare. A month ago the difference was a staggering 500SGD~360USD on a 3080 build using pcthemes price. I recommend starting with mediamart, dynacore and pcthemes.

3080 possible , anybody who has stocks can sell at whatever price they deem fit.

This setup TS posted is about $1650, build in sim lim i did rough calculation is can be about $50-$60 cheaper from fuwell or pct. Go tradepac maybe $150 cheaper max. How you get $300-$600?

I calculated a few times for anyone posted about aftershocks and it has always been around that range of mark-up unless it's during sales or promo then it's around 100 difference. Like I said, if you want aftershock, get their build list then compare with shops, if the mark-up is not so much, then it's ok to get them. My builds were usually mid-high tier so maybe higher markups. That 500+ mark-up was 3080 build a month ago.

Thanks for the insight. The quote i found on their website is based on promo i guess. But perhaps all year round they also have promo bah. Now i will be in touch with an sls staff based on fren's recommendation. Hopefully will be a good deal if not i think aftershock is still preferred if the price difference is only 100+ and they provides all the service n wty.

Apparently i also found a seller in carousell with a reasonable quote.. I suspect it can compete with aftershock.

If so i will have to spend more time researching to see reliability and compatibility among brands.

I am very particular about motherboard since it will decide the capability of features like ports, WiFi/bt, no. of ram slots, processor type, etc. What is recommended for durability? In the past people are looking at the capacitors thus bought Intel and gigabyte, but nowadays still the same?

Look for mobo review for mobo with best vrm phase supply and lowest temp when load. A good and not so good mobo, the temperature difference can be very great which will impact on the life span

Good enough for a quick inexpensive start but if video editing is more frequent or 4k, better start off with at least 8core cpu n better gpu.

Personally, i feel better off with a fresh start since you know it is a regular need. Else you will have to go for upgrade anyway. The b450 board will have heat issue if you go for 12 or 16core cpu later.
Most ideal in price performance ratio for video editing is 12 core if you dont mind slight higher start up costs

Gpu asus strix 2070 680 lazada

The power consumption of above combo is abt 400watt so a 650watt psu u have about 200watt buffer which is good enough for future proof gpu up grade in the next 5yrs. Most decent psu has at least 5years warranty with some 7, 10 or 12 years warranty but be prepared to pay ard 200 or above.

Msi tomahawk has the best low heat to price ratio compare to asus and gigabyte.

Mobo matters now don't cheap out especially those with better VRAM and cooling... If you want the 3080 can get the Gigabyte combo with the B550 Vision D and 3080 Vision

That will be aorus x570 pro wifi, atx about 400; matx about 350.

Tomahawk is quite safe cos there was alot of complaint earlier thus they revamped, and made it a showcase to tell users they listen and improved on the complains.

There is 2070 used for 2mths, 2yrs 10mths more warranty, even overclock the effect probably limited, i think. It is on carousell now, you go search yourself

Only can assemble used parts if you want 2070 which is about 700 for new.

Try getting a quote from various companies which help users build their PCs. I won't recommend Aftershock as their price is high. Cos few years ago I got a much better price per spec from Mansa as compared to Aftershock. I had a PC DIY from Mansa and its price was better than Aftershock. PC was then meant for use with video, photos editing and 3D stuff.
