Building budget PC

Hi all,

My CPU just dead after 7 years of usage. Initially i suspect PSU is faulty as it couldn't power up at all. I have tried a new PSU since it has been 7 years already. CPU will switch on and run for a few second and restart again after i stalled the new PSU. I guess there are other hardware failures. Since the parts are quite old, therefore I decide to build a budget Com for my parents. They will be using it for just normal internet surfing.

Below are the current parts available and might be able to re-use

1) 4GB DDR3 ram X 2
2) 500GB hardisk (not very sure if it is still working)
3) GTX 560 GPU
4) Monitor, keyboard and mouse.
5) FSP 500W PSU (new)
6) Window 7 Home CD key (not very sure if it can still work)

below are the possible parts i need, would like to seek some recommendation from the PROs here.

1) CPU
2) MB
3) RAM (DDR4? depends on the CPU and MB, I am not very sure if its worth the upgrade for basic internet surfing)
4) SSD
5) Case

I have a budget around $500 to $600. I would like to seek advise if its possible for me to build within the budget and what are the parts that might be compatible with my old PC parts.

Case wise can consider getting tecware F3 and the remaing another 500GB of SSD.

total most likely set u maybe about 600+

Your parts are quite old and essentially all are obsolete, but you can still use the FSP.

Currently RAM prices are very high as well.

Only PSU, monitor, kb, mouse can re-use, the rest outdated.
For parents internet surfing..

Ryzen 2200g + B350 Motherboard ~$300
Crucial MX500 250GB SSD ~ $120
2x 4GB DDR4 ram ~$120
Case, get cheapest one ~$30-50?

Or can get a $500 - $600 prebuilt desktop

If that 2 sticks of 4GB DDR3 is still usable, best is get a 2nd-hand haswell CPU + motherboard, and throw in a SSD. Use the onboard Intel iGPU, keep the GTX 560 for a rainy day

Haswell still can use ur Windows 7 key, the new CPUs today all cannot.

Haswell still can use ur Windows 7 key, the new CPUs today all cannot.

Can consider buy refurbished notebook or desktop as well. Alot on Lazada or Q10. Got a Thinkpad T440s for $350. Can buy 2 for both parents. 128SSD with 8Gb Ram. 4th gen processor.

Is it able boot just with mobo only?
If no then it should be fail capacitor.

Getting a new LGA1155 Asrock from Malaysia is about RM300.
I wouldn't touch Ensonic.
