Memory: 128GB (16 x 8GB) DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) 1Rx4 288-Pin 1.2V ECC RDIMM Registered Memory by NEMIX RAM
GPUs: The cheapest GT 1030 paired with a Radeon Pro Wx4100
SSD: The cheapest eight 1TB SSDs available. Will be connected to the board with 4-way SlimSAS SFF-8654 to SATA cables
PSU: CORSAIR CX Series CX750
CPU coolers: up for recommendations

Any thoughts?

V2 is super old, and boards don't have UEFI.

Anyway, found a HUANAN x79 dual CPU board bundle in Aliexpress for S$1630, is it worth the price? Includes two E5-2697 v2 CPUs and four 16GB ECC memory dimms.

Huanan x79 is running z77 chipset. Google and see. Not a good idea to buy.

The E5-2697 v2 is an LGA 2011 CPU. It won't run on the sockets handled by the z77.

Is there any reason why you would consider a dual cpu config? Is the current threadripper not good enough? Is this going to be a server or high processing workstation?

I am running my trading bots 24/7 with R7-2700x/32Gb and it seems to be holding up well. My peer is using the EPYC in dual cpu but we don't see much advantage.

Some of the stuff I build will force even a 10-core CPU to its knees.

I can buy the Huanan dual socket X79 mobo from Taobao for including shipping to SG for $235.

EBay selling 2nd hand Intel Xeon E5-2690 for USD$105 a pop , 2 is USD$210 which is around SGD$300 including shipping to SG...

$235 + $300 + $1250 = $1785

But if u die die wanna get the dual E5-2697v2 CPUs then I think the prince is reasonable ba

Not in a position to comment since i don't know the details but it is probably better off to run several function separately or use cloud offering than to run it all on one system.

It's the same logic as SLI - dual card doesn't mean double the performance

Get the HP Z620/Z640 or Dell equilevent. Got alot in the market used and very cheap.
