BUILDING FROM LEFTOVER PARTS

I HAVE THE FOLLOWING PARTS LEFTOVER FROM MY PREVIOUS UPGRADE.

1. ASUS Z87-A MOBO
2. x4 IDCOOLING FANS
3. 23 INCH SAMSUNG MONITOR
4. 120GB SSD,



what would be the cheapest way to build a pc that can support bF4 around medium settings

dont mind i5 and below and i dont mind doing overclocking

Your motherboard supports LGA1150 CPUs only, meaning CPUs like i5-4690k, i7-4790k. List can be found here: http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket_1150_LGA1150_H3.html

These CPUs not sold at shops in SLS anymore, so if you want to reuse that motherboard have to find CPU from somewhere else.

GPU: Palit GTX1060 3GB ($275)

Suggest just getting a new motherboard+cpu

Your mobo still ok if you can find an overclockable i5 from IT garage. But it is ATX form factor, so you have to find an ATX case. The rest can go with what is recommended. If you have the budget, get a better PSU and 16gb of ram.

This is correct, didn't notice its ATX board haha. F3 case can't fit.

The options I recommended is just the most budget if you are really intent on saving money. Agree with what spiky said as well with regards to the upgrades

one of the reason for building it is i want to try out overclocking

and the other one is because my z87a board keeping dust, like waste if dont use because ive "upgraded' or you can say downgraded to itx

Since you're upgrading, update your mobo bios to the latest first. Then just dismantle everything, blow the mobo and your casing of all the dust away, get a second hand unlocked i5 or i7 4th gen.

Get a liquid aio and do your oc.

If you can get a 4670k cheap, a decent cooler and psu then go for it. Cheapest would be G3258 with stock cooler, can probably get up to 4.2ghz.

Some games might not like 2 cores though, in that case might be better going with locked i3s which has hyperthreading at least.
