Hello everyone

Im planning to build a htpc but have come a crossroad with some dilemma. Hoping to seek some advice from gurus here.

Requirements:
- Currently using a JONSBO G3 htpc - length 44cm, height 16cm, front to back 36cm. Im hoping to get a case with a shorter length (maybe around 30cm?), height not more than 20cm? front to back - no preferences.

- mobo. looking at asrock 5005/j4105 but feel free to recommend. The core factor is, i need to output to 3 monitor without the need of a GPU so that i can maintain the small form factor.

- i dont play game. so daily surfing using and watching of movie will suffice. Hence i dont think a gpu is necessary and can save cost.

- i have a standard psu size (Superflower leadex silver full mod 550w). Im trying to incorporate this psu into the Mini ITX board and also the case specification listed above, but i cant seems to come across one that fits the bill unless i downsize my psu. i just feel that it will be a waste not to utilise this psu.

Ideal scenario: keep superflower psu, buy mini itx that can output 3 monitor without separate gpu, and a case with the size of Height not more than 20cm, length not more than 30cm.

Otherwise - buy mini itx that can output 3 monitor without separate gpu, downsize psu to cater to case size limitation.

Any information i missed out let me know. Appreciate some enlightenment.

I just ordered a Chuwi Gbox Mini PC for 241usd at Gearbest awaiting shipment. I am using a Asus VM42 Mini PC now. I mainly use the device for media consumption, farming and internet surfing. Mini PC saves alot of space and electricity.

1. Available in Taobao I dun know. I just followed the URL link provided at Chuwi site and ordered from Gearbest.

2. At this moment the box is not 64gb emmc. It is 32gb emmc and 32gb SSD. Reason is due to compliance with the discounted (or discontinued) Windows 10 license that they are putting it in the box.

If you are not in a hurry you can wait. The current launch is to catch people (like myself) who can't wait to get their hands on a Gemini CPU. If you wait maybe they will launch new model with more than 4gb ram. Note that current models have the ram soldiered onto the MB. Non expand able. I bought it because I just need a simple machine to surf and consume media.

TS. Not to steal your thread but rather to point out that recently there is a flood of new mini PC launched using the latest Gemini CPU. These boxes are small and light and they are suitable for media consumption and basic surfing. No local warranty thou.

I have started using these type of mini PC about two years back because they are cheap and have low electricity consumption.

My apology in advance.

For case you can try CM Elite 110, should fit your long PSU and your length requirements. Height is 8mm over 20cm though.

I am not a technical person and so I explain in layman term. Emmc are basically the same type of memory that manufacturers put into a mobile phone. I dun believe it is removable. For the device I ordered, it can take a 2.5inch HDD or SSD. I have a 2TB HDD that I keep my media files. So when the machine comes I just plug it into the box.

Such devices will not connect to multiple montiors. I may be wrong. If you have such requirement than you are not looking at a simple device. A proper HTPC will be required.
