Posting on behalf of a friend whom is building a desktop for gaming. The game is very graphic intensive and he would like to open multiple clients at once.

budget up to $4000. He just bought a new monitor Acer XB271. Please advise~

Yea he have high budget but don't know much about overclocking.

I couldn't pluck and paste the specs from other threads as im afraid those specs wouldn't meet his requirement to run game in ultra settings.

He better learn overclocking. Lol. I'd incline to getting Ryzen 7 1700 for multiple clients of game running at once, but not sure how well will that fare in high refresh qhd monitor. I hope other bro here who is more familiar with high refresh gaming to chip in their thoughts. It's more appropriate this way as this is out of my league coz I'm a 60hz monitor user haha

hehe..its indeed for a friend of mine..i came here to look for recommendation in the past be it for myself or for friend. Because of the stability of the build recommended, i rely on this forum for the specs

coz it is cumbersome for someone to create an account and keep coming in to check replies? and a friend happens to surf hwz often and so might as well ask him to post lor.

For that price unless your friend requires exteremely fast transfer speeds, can consider to get a 850gb evo and use the savings to get a HGST 4tb around 200

Get a bigger psu if he ever plan to do SLI. But it's not very optimized even today albeit the tech have a certain age already. Other than AAA titles, not much games actually support SLI.

You can achieve 1800X base speed with some overclocking. 1800X supposed to be better binned but already numerous 1700 can overclock as good as the 1800X.

That cooler can only be compatible with low profile ram like the vengeance lpx. Hence I chose that ram as well, other than being cheaper than trident Z
