Hello all

i've had my computer for almost 5 years now and did a few upgrades here and there but i think it is failing me now. did reformating, reinstalls, updating, but still very slow, so i think it is a hardware problem.

first off, my specs are currently. (copied from my "my computer" properties)

Processor: intel core i7 870 @2.93GHz (had this since i bought it)
RAM: 8GB (2 to 3yrs old)
Graphics card: Nvdia Geforce GTX 660 (2 to 3 yrs old)
running on windows 7 home premium 64bit

1) i had the assumption that my processor was quite good, what are the specs i should look for when building a new pc?

2)should i salvage any parts and put it into my new pc? stuff like power box(still quite new), RAM. should i put 2 graphics card into it? (old + new)

3) what should i be looking for while building my new pc if i want to play high end games like FF14, Blade and soul, TERA at high quality. and also for watching movies and whatnot. so i would need lotsa disk space, maybe a 2TB disk as the main with the OS installed inside? I do plan to put my current 2TB disk into the new PC just for storage.

4) is it possible with a budget of $1400? it would be best if i could lower the cost however i can. oh and i have no need for monitor mouse keyboard all this.

Thank you all in advance!!

Post this in main hardware clinic, will get more replies.
If you want a whole new build, try this one (credits to moneyface =p)
Asrock h81-hds+ i5 4460 ($343)
Zotac GTX 960/ 970 (around $300 for 960, $478 for 970)
Kingston 1600 MHz value ram $67
