You can't overclock non-K CPU. And if you don't intend to do so, downgrade to Core i5, B150 motherboard and drop the Corsair AIO...

Wait for Amazon 27/11 BF sale and Lazada 12/12 Online Revolution finale sale

What is your reason for overclocking?
1)For fun?
2) For "extra gaming performance"? I have reason for using " ".
3) For extra video rendering performance?
4) Too much money?
5) Show off?

The specs you quoted, from Aftershock right? Aftershock uses the similar specs.

not from there, its from the SLS price lists.
OC mainly for extra gaming performance and also i might intend to SLI in the future.

Ok if i drop to i5 can i still SLI?

just go air cooler. water cooler performance is not really good in asian climate unless your room is in air con condition .

worth oc-ing? depend on what you are doing and using it for. If normal usage, there is no real need for overclocking except to waste power.

If you are not oc-ing/crossfiring, can drop the motherboard grade too as these boards are designed for overclocking / crossfire.

Power supply, just go check out FSP, Seasonic and superflower. These are the big 3 in the oem psu industrial. Most brands uses these oem.
500W-600W should be enough. If you oc-ing/upgrading/sli next time, maybe go for ~700W

Casing, we can't decide for you. Just go browse some cases online and see which one you like.

ok thanks. i do game in aircon and WC is mainly cos dont want dust. fans always make my casing dusty (my room is very dusty, like 3 months must clean my laptop inside), even inside the casing, oh and noisy too.

you do know that WC also use fans on the radiators?

even if you are using AIO water cooler, you probably still need intake fans for the motherboard/rams and gpu
You can add dust filters to your casing and make the case air flow positive pressure so no dust can enter

Unless you going extreme ocing, not going to see any noticeabke performance gain, mild ocing is ownself see ownself song tbh....

Aio water cooler put fans on the radiator too, will have dust accumulation too .. No difference from normal heat pipe cooler

Good for benchmarking and a few frame rate increase. Last time ppl overclock is due to cpu bottlenecking GPU. Now most chips are factory clocked upwards, hard for bottlenecking to happen.

Unless you need the processor processing power for rendering / etc, your gaming experiences does not scale well for the power/efforts used for overclocking your CPU. OVerclocking your GPU will yield better results.

Nowadays, game depend heavily on graphic card. 90% of the games won't benefit much from overclocking. The maximum you can yield is less than 5%.

You pay extra $250+ for good CPU cooler, K cpu and Z motherboard just for that extra >5%? Do you think it is worth it?

The only time you will see significant performance improvement is if you overclock Intel Pentium G3258 processor.

i would consider i7 if you do some editing or rendering. that hyper threading is useful.

if you want huge improvement to your gaming experiences, just get a better gpu / overclock your gpu. cpu these days are clocked good enough for all games. the only component that you have direct control of is the gpu and ram
