Hi all experts.

I'm currently looking to build a new mid-tier rig. Bought the following from Amazon and Newegg:

1. Asus Strix GTX970
2. Corsair Vengeance DDR4 Ram 2 X 8GB 3000Mhz (Red)
3. Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD
4. Seagate 2TB Desktop Gaming SSHD SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache

Need your expertise to recommend the following:

1. Motherboard
2. Processor
3. PSU
4. Sound card (currently using Swans M50, not sure whether sound card required)
5. Case (Define R5 or similar)

Thank you all in advance.

More info needed so the experts can better advice u.

1. What's the purpose of your rig? E.g. gaming, video editing, etc.

2. Your budget?

3. Any specific colour theme u prefer? E.g. Black-Red

4. Do u require wireless connectivity for your rig?

5. Need any pheriphals like mouse, keyboard, monitor?

More of gaming and multi-tasking.

2. Your budget?
Probably 1.5k for the rest of the items?

3. Any specific colour theme u prefer? E.g. Black-Red
Black-Red seems nice since the rams are in Red

4. Do u require wireless connectivity for your rig?
Nope

5. Need any pheriphals like mouse, keyboard, monitor?
Nope
=:p

Thank you for your questions.

I don't think need so much ba :s13:

i5-6500 + MSI B150 Gaming M3 @ 476
Superflower Leadex Platinum 650W @169 (Lazada)
NZXT H440 (Black/Red) 209

And you still have a lot leftover... I think you can even go SLI GTX970 if you want :s13:

No need sound card, onboard should be fine. Eventually, you can think of buying an external DAC like the CEntrance DACport or something

I read on some article that in order to utilize the 3000Mhz DDR4 Ram, I would need to get a Z170 motherboard instead. Is that true?

you can run 3000MHz RAM on a B150/H110/H170 board but it will just run at the maximum the board can support, so your RAM will be a little limited (but the performance difference is very minimal and not noticeable at all)

But since you got tons of budget and stuff...

i5-6500 + MSI Z170A Gaming Pro @575 (SLI support if you want it)
Corsair RM850 @199
NZXT H440 @209

I think still got room for another GTX970 :s22:
