Hi there

I'm a beginner and starting to build up my knowledge on Finance. What are the news sources you recommend for everyday reading? Bloomberg? CNBC? Business Times (by SPH)? The Economist? Singapore Business Review?

I'm also looking to start an OCBC Young Investor account in future when I think I'm ready. Are there better places to start investing?

dont bother with financial news. you are better off not listening to them.

Their incentive lies with delivering juicy news that can generate advertising revenue, not delivering profitable ones.

1 moment they say jobs report good, market chiong. Next moment they say interest rate hike, market tank. Jin exciting woh.

the only reason to listen to them is for entertainment :o :s13:

to acquire the basics.. please go read the books that have been listed umpteem times in this forum.

thank you and you have a nice day !:)

For both value investors and traders, i recommend starting with trading!
yes! Trading let you get a feel of how in control you are of your emotion and your decision making ability. and also it lets you observe market ebb and flow. you will notice all stocks good or bad goes up and down. must be mentally prepared. Not say value it will only go up ... value stocks also can go down greater than 20% from your purchase before reboudning upwards..
