AMD Ryzen apu is actually targeted at groups of people like you - a cheap gaming chip with decent graphics while waiting/saving up for a new gpu.

Of course, if you feel like investing in a card for those games which is cheap, you can opt for gt1030 tonpair with your 8500.

8400 & 8500 has exactly the same graphic performance.

Can't find benchmarks for L4D2 but considering kabylake is using the same Intel UHD Graphics 630, should be able to do 1080p @ medium - high.

Your choice. Most of us here would still recommend a AMD APU for your usage.

I think it is pointless suggesting AMD to someone who plan to spend $1000 on the CPU and GPU for playing CS Go and L4D2... which happen to run perfectly fine on a <$150 Ryzen 2200G.
