Sooooo...you planning to reuse your 9600GT on your new com? Cause i5-8500 ain't gonna cut it in the graphics department. Maybe 720p low-mid?

AMD Ryzen apu is actually targeted at groups of people like you - a cheap gaming chip with decent graphics while waiting/saving up for a new gpu.

Of course, if you feel like investing in a card for those games which is cheap, you can opt for gt1030 tonpair with your 8500.

Nope, won't bring the old graphic card over. Will intend to use the onboard graphic for the time being.

Well, for cs go, expect this performance:

8400 & 8500 has exactly the same graphic performance.

Can't find benchmarks for L4D2 but considering kabylake is using the same Intel UHD Graphics 630, should be able to do 1080p @ medium - high.

Your choice. Most of us here would still recommend a AMD APU for your usage.

I think it is pointless suggesting AMD to someone who plan to spend $1000 on the CPU and GPU for playing CS Go and L4D2... which happen to run perfectly fine on a <$150 Ryzen 2200G. :)
