Buy from RP or get outside?

Hi, my nephew will be joining RP but he yet to get the laptop so i'm not sure at this point should he still get from the RP vendor or just buy outside?

Looking at the Lenovo Ideapad Y410P. Is it still worth it to get at the price they offering or should we look elsewhere?

Yes if you are looking specifically for that model then worth it. But outside school got other models to choose from such as ultrabook, ultraportable(Asus has some nice models at $1k-$1.2k range) , gaming systems (see aftershock).
