Is it a good time to get a new gaming rig now or is there some upcoming developments I should wait for?

You can get everything now. The more you wait the more things keep pouring in and you won't get anything.

You could at least wait for amd 9xxx series to arrive, see benchmarks and make a better decision.... But, it will take some time for nvidia and previous gen amd cpu price to drop, locally.

yes apart for and 9xxx series gfx card. but it will be quite a long wait. if you wanna go for nvidia you can go for it now
