Buying a new system

Hi guys,
I know nuts about PC setup. I’m actually planning to buy with retailers. However, after reading some of the threads here, it seems like retailer mark up a lot. Is there any DIY guy I can look for to help me with my new system and is it normal for the DIY guy assist in after sales service if there is any issue?

probably can ask the sls shop to help u assemble if u buy everything from them. but then the prices may not be the cheapest compared to if you shop around online/ offline.

after sales service will of course be very limited.

if you know nuts and not going to learn to diy (assembling/ troubleshooting), my suggestion is usually just get from aftershock or their competitors as it's usually worth buying over the troubles you may encounter.

After seeing the customer horror stories I would think I will stick with Harvey Norman and Best Denki kind of retail chains.

Option 2: 1440P
-60hz/165hz/240hz

Option 3 : 4K aka 2160P
-60hz/120hz/144hz

Choose 1 option and target hz/fps u want.

I’m actually using a gaming laptop but it has been awhile so I’m thinking of getting a desktop for gaming.

I recently bought 27” monitor from prism+ for work purpose. So I dun think it’s anything fancy.

I dun mind investing in a new monitor too.
I’m actually looking at i7 12 gen and RTX3070 combo

If you need after sales support, get one from shop that provides 3yrs warranty for peace of mind..

How much would that RTX 3070 cost you? I ask because AMD presents more bang-for-buck when it comes to GPU prices. For example, look at this GB RTX 3050 at 355SGD

This is just an example, you may ofc find a cheaper BNIB RTX 3050, but I'm willing to bet you can't find one cheaper than 262SGD

same or even faster performance going with amd's 6750 xt, u get more vram too. if the updated price lists are correct, can get asus 6750 xt dual for 614 from dynacore, while the cheapest 3070 is about 800 from techdeals, so the 6750 xt ends up being cheaper too.

Link u showed $261 is not new product , his store also 0 rated 0 sold from vietnam . I dont trust that

currently using 2 monitors, Dell S2721DGF 1440p 165hz, and Dell P2422H 1080p 60hz. I usually play the standard AAA games and so on, so would like to be able to be able to run the games at least 1440p 144hz. Bonus if it is quieter since my wife in the same room.

so just looking at something convenient with aftersales service, any recommendation for specific builds on aftershock or anywhere else? initially thinking maybe 2.5k budget but flexible also

Dynacore pricing cannot see from their pricelist. That S$614 Is with other things throw in. If you walk in buy just the card is another pricing liao. Just FYI.

good catch, dont remember seeing the disclaimer on last year price list. but u can still get the 6750 xt for under 650 from pc themes or (shocker) bizgram, so still way cheaper than the 3070.

Actually at S$650, i will skip all 3060/3060Ti/3070 and just get the 6750XT.

Wah I also planning to have a 6750XT in my build but scare no stocks only.. aiming for the Asus one together with ASUS TUF X670E-PLUS GAMING WIFI + AMD R7 7700X from SLS together with some low profile RAM as I want to use Bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4.

Today just place an order on Lian Li Lancool III, now waiting for its arrival then can order some parts from online, then the core items above will go SLS to buy.

Any recommendation on choosing RAM with regard to speed on AM5 socket ar??

Was thinking between having 5200Mhz but higher at 64GB (2 x 32GB) vs 6000Mhz EXPO at 32GB (2 x 16GB).

Which would be better and why....

My usage is gaming maybe 1080p and if possible maybe at higher resolution depending on how far my GPU can do.... and some basic photo editing, simple video editing etc..
